The Process

Purchasing a diamond, whether lab created or earth mined, is a process that can often be intimidating and confusing. We're here to clear the air for you, and to ensure your ring purchase is a smooth and comfortable experience.

The diamonds we work with at Forma Fine Jewelry are lab created, meaning they are the exact same chemical makeup as a natural earth diamond, but they are created in a laboratory. This ensures that the diamonds we use are conflict free, and are created by employees that are paid a fair wage and treated in a humane way. Our diamonds are the perfect choice for those seeking the glamour of this beautiful stone, without the political, human rights, and environmental issues that surround natural diamond mining.

When purchasing a lab diamond, we will walk you throughout the entire process. First, you can contact us for a consultation, where we will ask a few questions to learn about what you're looking for: your budget, what shape are you looking for, and if you've considered what colour, clarity and cut grades you'd like to purchase. Then, after a custom ring deposit is made, we will source a variety of diamonds for you that fit your criteria. Because lab diamonds are sold to bidders worldwide, acting swiftly is key. You would have access to HD photos and videos of the diamonds before making the purchase. With the advancements in technology today, we are able to select diamonds in ways that are fast and efficient.

Once a diamond has been chosen, another round of payments are made to get the ring creation process started. Within this process, we will keep you fully informed of the timeline, and you will be able to review illustrations and mock ups of the rings for approval.

Due to the nature of finding the right diamond, finalizing designs, and the production time of the ring itself, creating a custom diamond ring can take a few weeks or months. We find that taking 12-18 weeks to complete a custom ring is entirely possible; each design case is unique.
