Consultation Process

You're finally ready to start the process of designing a ring, but perhaps you don't know where to start! This is completely understandable, and we understand the process can be  intimidating. We're here to get you on the right track and help create the ring you've always envisioned for yourself, or a loved one.

The Custom Design process includes a few steps, outlined below. Please review and when ready, send an inquiry via our customer contact form. We are here to ensure your ring making journey is as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

Stone Sourcing

Majority of our customers who contact us for consultation need help sourcing a specific stone, whether it is a lab created diamond, a moissanite, or something colourful and gorgeous like a lab created sapphire. When sourcing a stone, we highly recommend educating yourself on lab diamond and gemstone details such as colour, cut, clarity and carat (the 4 C's of diamond grading, which can also apply to moissanite). We have an Education Centre to help you learn more about diamonds, moissanite and gemstones. We also recommend visiting the following websites:

If you're already well-versed in lab diamonds, moissanite and gemstones and you've got a specific stone size and shape in mind, you can work with us directly to source the perfect stone for you! Virtual or In-Person Consultations

At Forma Fine Jewelry, we offer virtual consultations via video calls, as well as in-person consultations for clients in the Greater Toronto Area. Our offices are located in Oakville, Ontario. We offer consultations in our private office to discuss all your ring needs: budget, design, stone sourcing and more.

Timing

When working with us directly to create a custom design or source your perfect stone, we will require deposits for sourcing and manufacturing before any purchasing and creation can begin. Visit our Terms and Conditions for details on how the deposit structure works when sourcing stones or starting a custom ring design.

Please note that custom design work can take up to 10- 16 weeks to complete, which is an estimate due to each custom project being completely unique.  Custom designs can take weeks to complete due to stone sourcing, response time, holiday schedules, payments, design revisions and more.
